Al-Quran

۞ وَقَضٰى رَبُّكَ اَلَّا تَعْبُدُوْٓا اِلَّآ اِيَّاهُ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ اِحْسٰنًاۗ اِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِنْدَكَ الْكِبَرَ اَحَدُهُمَآ اَوْ كِلٰهُمَا فَلَا تَقُلْ لَّهُمَآ اُفٍّ وَّلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُلْ لَّهُمَا قَوْلًا كَرِيْمًا (الإسراء:٢٣)

Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and do good to parents. If any one of them or both of them reach old age, do not say to them: uff (a word or expression of anger or contempt) and do not scold them, and address them with respectful words,

فَإِنَّ الْقَضَاءَ هَاهُنَا بِمَعْنَى الْأَمْرِ

The wordQada(normally having the meaning of decree) here means "commanded".

قَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ: ﴿وَقَضَى﴾ يَعْنِي: وَصَّى،

"وَوَصَّى رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا إِيَّاهُ"

"And your Lord hasWassa(enjoined) that you worship none but Him."

وَلِهَذَا قَرَنَ بِعِبَادَتِهِ بِرَّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ فَقَالَ:

The idea of worshipping Allah is connected to the idea of honoring one's parents.

وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا﴾ أَيْ: وَأَمَرَ بِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا،

وَقَوْلُهُ: ﴿إِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِنْدَكَ الْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَا أَوْ كِلاهُمَا فَلا تَقُلْ لَهُمَا أُفٍّ﴾ أَيْ: لَا تُسْمِعْهُمَا قَوْلًا سَيِّئًا، حَتَّى وَلَا التَّأْفِيفَ الَّذِي هُوَ أَدْنَى مَرَاتِبِ الْقَوْلِ السَّيِّئِ

means, do not let them hear anything offensive from you, not even say "Uff!" which is the mildest word of disrespect,

﴿وَلا تَنْهَرْهُمَا﴾ أَيْ: وَلَا يَصْدُرْ مِنْكَ إِلَيْهِمَا فِعْلٌ قَبِيحٌ،

and do not reprimand them
means, do not do anything horrible to them.

كَمَا قَالَ عَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: ﴿وَلا تَنْهَرْهُمَا﴾ أَيْ: لَا تَنْفُضْ^(١) يَدَكَ عَلَى وَالِدَيْكَ.

"Do not raise your hand against them."

وَلَمَّا نَهَاهُ عَنِ الْقَوْلِ الْقَبِيحِ وَالْفِعْلِ الْقَبِيحِ، أَمَرَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ الْحَسَنِ وَالْفِعْلِ الْحَسَنِ فَقَالَ: .

When Allah forbids speaking and behaving in an obnoxious manner, He commands speaking and behaving in a good manner,

﴿وَقُلْ لَهُمَا قَوْلا كَرِيمًا﴾ أَيْ: لَيِّنًا طَيِّبًا حَسَنًا بِتَأَدُّبٍ وَتَوْقِيرٍ وَتَعْظِيمٍ

so He says;وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوْلاً كَرِيمًاbut address them in terms of honor.
meaning gently, kindly, politely, and with respect and appreciation

وَاخْفِضْ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ الذُّلِّ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ وَقُلْ رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيٰنِيْ صَغِيْرًاۗ(الإسراء:٢٤)

and submit yourself before them in humility out of compassion, and say, “My Lord, be merciful to them as they have brought me up in my childhood.”

أَيْ: تَوَاضَعَ لَهُمَا بِفِعْلِكَ

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيَرْفَعُ الدَّرَجَةَ لِلْعَبْدِ الصَّالِحِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ أَنَّى لِي هَذِهِ فَيَقُولُ بِاسْتِغْفَارِ وَلَدِكَ لَكَ

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah Almighty will raise the status of his righteous servants in Paradise, and they will say: O Lord, what is this? Allah will say: This is your child seeking forgiveness for you.”

عَنْ أَنَسٍ وَغَيْرِهِ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسلم لَمَّا صَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ

قَالَ: "آمِينَ آمِينَ آمِينَ":

فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، عَلَامَ أَمَّنْتَ؟ قَالَ:

"أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ فَقَالَ:

يَا مُحَمَّدُ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ امْرِئٍ ذُكِرْتَ عِنْدَهُ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْكَ، فَقُلْ: آمِينَ. فَقُلْتُ: آمِينَ.

ثُمَّ قَالَ: رَغِمَ أَنْفُ امْرِئٍ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ وَلَمْ يُغْفَرْ لَهُ، قُلْ: آمِينَ. فَقُلْتُ آمِينَ.

ثُمَّ قَالَ: رَغِمَ أَنْفُ امْرِئٍ أَدْرَكَ أَبَوَيْهِ أَوْ أَحَدَهُمَا فَلَمْ يُدْخِلَاهُ الْجَنَّةَ، قُلْ: آمِينَ. فَقُلْتُ: آمِينَ"^(٣) .

خرجه مسلم في صحيحه برقم (٢٥٥١) وسيأتي. ومن حديث كعب بن عجرة رضي الله عنه، رواه الحاكم في المستدرك (٤/١٥٣

narration from Anas and others, which states that the Prophet climbed up on theMinbar, and then said,
Amin,Amin,Amin.
It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, why did you sayAmin."
He said;
Jibril came to me and said,
"O Muhammad, he is doomed who hears you mentioned and does not saySallaupon you." He said, "SayAmin," so I saidAmin.
Then he said,
"He is doomed who sees the month ofRamadancome and go, and he has not been forgiven." He said, "SayAmin," so I said Amin.
Then he said,
"He is doomed who grows up and both his parents or one of them are still alive, and they do not cause him to enter Paradise." He said, "SayAmin," so I saidAmin.

Another Narration

Imam Ahmad reported from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet said;

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:".

رَغِمَ أَنْفُ ثُمَّ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ ثُمَّ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ رَجُلٍ أَدْرَكَ أَحَدَ أَبَوَيْهِ أَوْ كِلَيْهِمَا عِنْدَ الْكِبَرِ وَلَمْ يَدْخُلِ الْجَنَّة
He is doomed, he is doomed, he is doomed, the man whose parents, one or both of them, reach old age while he is alive and he does not enter Paradise.

Kindness to death parrents 

عَنْ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ وَهُوَ مَالِكُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ السَّاعِدِيُّ، قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا أَنَا جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إذا جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،

هَلْ بَقِيَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ بِرِّ أَبَوَيَّ شَيْءٌ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِمَا أَبَرُّهُمَا بِهِ؟

Is there anything left for me to do good to my parents after their death that I can do with them?

قَالَ: "نَعَمْ، خِصَالٌ أَرْبَعٌ:

الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْهِمَا، وَالِاسْتِغْفَارُ لَهُمَا، وَإِنْفَاذُ عَهْدِهِمَا، وَإِكْرَامُ صَدِيقِهِمَا، وَصِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ الَّتِي لَا رَحِمَ لَكَ إِلَّا مِنْ قِبَلِهِمَا، فَهُوَ الَّذِي بَقِيَ عَلَيْكَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِمَا مِنْ بِرِّهِمَا"^(١٧

رِضَى الرَّبِّ فِي رِضَى الْوَالِدِ وَسَخَطُ الرَّبِّ فِي سَخَطِ الْوَالِدِ

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The pleasure of the Lord is in the pleasure of the parents, and the displeasure of the Lord is in the displeasure of the parents.”

Abu Darda reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The father is the middle of the gates of Paradise. If you wish, you can squander this gate or keep to it.”

Paradise in your mother feet 

وَقَالَ الْإِمَامُ أَحْمَدُ

عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ جَاهِمَةَ السَّلَمِيِّ؛ أَنَّ جَاهِمَةَ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَرَدْتُ الْغَزْوَ، وَجِئْتُكَ أَسْتَشِيرُكَ؟ فَقَالَ:

"فَهَلْ لَكَ مِنْ أُمٍّ؟

 قَالَ^(٢٠) .
نَعَمْ. فَقَالَ: "الْزَمْهَا. فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْهَا⁽

Source: Sunan al-Nasā’ī 3104

Imam Ahmad recorded Mu`awiyah bin Jahimah As-Salami saying that Jahimah came to the Prophet and said;
"O Messenger of Allah, I want to go out to fight and I have come to seek your advice."
He said,فَهَلْ لَكَ مِنْ أُم
Do you have a mother?
He said, "Yes."
The Prophet said,
فَالْزَمْهَا فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْهَا
Then stay with her, for Paradise is at her feet.

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ

جِئْتُ أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ وَتَرَكْتُ أَبَوَيَّ يَبْكِيَانِ فَقَالَ

ارْجِعْ عَلَيْهِمَا فَأَضْحِكْهُمَا كَمَا أَبْكَيْتَهُمَا

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: A man came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, “I have come to pledge allegiance to you upon emigration, and I left my parents weeping.” The Prophet said, “Return to them and make them laugh, just as you made them cry.”

قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَاذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ

قَالَ بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ

قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَاذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ

أَنْ يَسْلَمَ النَّاسُ مِنْ لِسَانِكَ

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, which deeds are best?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Prayer on time.” I said, “Then what, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said, “Good treatment of your parents.” I said, “Then what, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said, “That people are safe from your tongue.”

وَفِي صَحِيحِ الْبُخَارِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ؟ قَالَ:

"الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى وَقْتِهَا"

قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟ قَالَ:

"ثُمَّ بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ"

قَالَ ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟ قَالَ:

"الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ"

(Bukari /Kurtabi )

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, which deed is best?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Prayer in its proper time.” I asked, “What is next?” The Prophet said, “Good treatment ofyour parents.” I said, “What is next?” The Prophet said, “Jihad in the way of Allah.” I became silent and if I had asked him more, he would have told me.

Ka’b ibn Malik reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked, “Which of the people is best?” The Prophet said, “A believer in service of two noble parents.”

Imam Ahmad recorded that Al-Miqdam bin Ma`dikarib said that the Prophet said;

إِنَّ اللهَ يُوصِيكُمْ بِأبَايِكُمْ
Allah enjoins you concerning your fathers,
إِنَّ اللهَ يُوصِيكُمْ بِأُمَّهَاتِكُمْ
Allah enjoins you concerning your mothers,
إِنَّ اللهَ يُوصِيكُمْ بِأُمَّهَاتِكُمْ
Allah enjoins you concerning your mothers,
إِنَّ اللهَ يُوصِيكُمْ بِأُمَّهَاتِكُمْ
Allah enjoins you concerning your mothers,
إِنَّ اللهَ يُوصِيكُمْ بِالاَْقْرَبِ فَالاَْقْرَب
Allah enjoins you concerning your close relatives then the next in closeness.

(قَالَ الْإِمَامُ أَحْمَدُ)

Swearing at parrants 

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ أَنْ يَلْعَنَ الرَّجُلُ وَالِدَيْهِ

قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَكَيْفَ يَلْعَنُ الرَّجُلُ وَالِدَيْهِ قَالَ

يَسُبُّ الرَّجُلُ أَبَا الرَّجُلِ فَيَسُبُّ أَبَاهُ وَيَسُبُّ أُمَّهُ

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, one of the major sins is that a man curses his own parents.” It was said, “O Messenger of Allah, how can a man curse his own parents?” The Prophet said, “He insults the father of another man and then that man insults his father and his mother.”

الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللَّهِ وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ

وَجَلَسَ وَكَانَ مُتَّكِئًا فَقَالَ

أَلَا وَقَوْلُ الزُّورِقَالَ فَمَا زَالَ يُكَرِّرُهَا حَتَّى قُلْنَا لَيْتَهُ سَكَتَ

Abu Bakrah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said three times, “Shall I not tell you about the worst of major sins?” They said, “Of course, O Messenger of Allah.” The Prophet said, “They are to associate partners with Allah and to be disrespectful to parents.” The Prophet was reclining and he sat up, saying, “And surely to speak falsely.” The Prophet continued to repeat it until we wished he had stopped.

كُلُّ ذُنُوبٍ يُؤَخِّرُ اللَّهُ مِنْهَا مَا شَاءَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلا الْبَغْيَ وَعُقُوقَ الْوَالِدَيْنِ أَوْ قَطِيعَةَ الرَّحِمِ

يُعَجِّلُ لِصَاحِبِهَا فِي الدُّنْيَا قَبْلَ الْمَوْت

Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Two deeds are quickly punished in the world: transgression and disrespect to parents.”

Nafi’ ibn al-Harith reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Every consequence of sin is delayed by Allah, as he wills, until the Day of Resurrection, except for injustice, disobedience to parents, or severing family ties. He will hasten the punishment of those who commit them in this world before he dies.”

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

الرَّحِمُ مُعَلَّقَةٌ بِالْعَرْشِ تَقُولُ مَنْ وَصَلَنِي وَصَلَهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَنِي قَطَعَهُ اللَّهُ

Allah said: Thus, you will have it.” Then, the Prophet said, “Recite the verse if you wish: Will you then, if you were given authority, spread corruption in the land and sever your family ties?” (47:22)

The Prophet said, “Whoever is tested with daughters in any way and treats them well, they will be their shield from Hellfire.”

A woman is the guardian of her husband’s home and his children and she is responsible for them. The servant of a man is a guardian of the property of his master and he is responsible for it. No doubt, every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock.”

Abu Huraira reported: A man said, “O Messenger of Allah, I have relatives with whom I try to relate but they cut me off. I treat them well, but they treat me badly. I am forbearing with them, but they are harsh with me.” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If it is as you say, then it is as if you threw hot ashes at them. Allah will be with you as a supporter as long as you remain like so.”

عَنْ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا كَانَ أَشْبَهَ سَمْتًا وَهَدْيًا وَدَلًّا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ فَاطِمَةَ كَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهَا كَانَتْ إِذَا دَخَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ قَامَ إِلَيْهَا فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِهَا وَقَبَّلَهَا وَأَجْلَسَهَا فِي مَجْلِسِهِ وَكَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا قَامَتْ إِلَيْهِ فَأَخَذَتْ بِيَدِهِ فَقَبَّلَتْهُ وَأَجْلَسَتْهُ فِي مَجْلِسِهَا

Aisha reported: I have not seen anyone more closely resemble the disposition, mannerism, and characteristics of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, than his daughter Fatimah, may Allah honor her countenance. If she entered his home, the Prophet would stand for her, take her by the hand, kiss her, and seat her in his place. If the Prophet entered her home, she would stand for him, take him by the hand, kiss him, and seat him in her place.

لَوْ كَانَ هَذَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

إِنْ كَانَ خَرَجَ يَسْعَى عَلَى وَلَدِهِ صِغَارًا فَهُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ

وَإِنْ كَانَ خَرَجَ يَسْعَى عَلَى أَبَوَيْنِ شَيْخَيْنِ كَبِيرَيْنِ فَهُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ

وَإِنْ كَانَ يَسْعَى عَلَى نَفْسِهِ يُعِفُّهَا فَهُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ

وَإِنْ كَانَ خَرَجَ رِيَاءً وَمُفَاخَرَةً فَهُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ الشَّيْطَانِ

Ka’b ibn ‘Ujrah reported: A man passed by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the companions of the Messenger of Allah saw his endurance and vigor. They said, “O Messenger of Allah, if only this man was acting in the way of Allah!” The Prophet said, “If he goes out striving for his small children, he is in the way of Allah. If he goes out striving for his elderly parents, he is in the way of Allah. If he goes out striving for himself to abstain from wrongdoing, he is in the way of Allah. If he goes out vainly and boasting, he is in the way of Satan.”

Loving Children 

عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي نُعْمٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ شَاهِدًا لِابْنِ عُمَرَ رضي الله عنه وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ دَمِ الْبَعُوضِ فَقَالَ مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِرَاقِ قَالَ انْظُرُوا إِلَى هَذَا يَسْأَلُنِي عَنْ دَمِ الْبَعُوضِ وَقَدْ قَتَلُوا ابْنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ

هُمَا رَيْحَانَتَايَ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا

Ibn Abi Nu’m reported: I watched Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, as he was asked about a man killing mosquitoes. Ibn Umar said, “Where are you from?” The man said, “The people of Iraq.” Ibn Umar said, “Look at this man! He asks me about killing mosquitoes when they killed the grandsons of the Prophet? I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say:They are my two sweet-basils in the world.”

Abu Buraydah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was delivering a sermon when Hasan and Husayn came wearing red shirts, walking and tripping. The Prophet descended from the pulpit, picked them both up, and placed them in his lap. The Prophet said, “Allah spoke the truth when He said: Verily, your wealth and your children are only a trial for you(64:15).I looked at these two boys walking and tripping and I could not be patient, even I cut short my speech to pick them up.”

Usamah ibn Zayd reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would put me on one of his thighs and he would put Hasan ibn Ali on his other thigh. Then, the Prophet would hug us and he would say, “O Allah, be merciful to them as I am merciful to them.”

Abu Huraira reported: Al-Aqra’ ibn Habis saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, kissing his grandson Al-Hasan. He said, “I have ten children and I do not kiss any of them.” The Prophet said, “Verily, whoever does not show mercy will not receive mercy.”

.‏ يَعْنِي حَسَنًا فَظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ إِنَّمَا تَحْبِسُهُ أُمُّهُ لأَنْ تُغَسِّلَهُ وَتُلْبِسَهُ سِخَابًا فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ جَاءَ يَسْعَى حَتَّى اعْتَنَقَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا صَاحِبَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُحِبُّهُ فَأَحِبَّهُ وَأَحْبِبْ مَنْ يُحِبُّهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Abu Huraira reported:

I went along with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) at a time during the day but he did not talk to me and I did not talk to him until he reached the market of Bani Qainuqa`. He came back to the tent of Fatima and said: Is the little chap (meaning Hasan) there? We were under the impression that his mother had detained him in order to bathe him and dress him and garland him with a sweet garland. Not much time had passed that he (Hasan) came running until both of them embraced each other, thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: O Allah, I love him; love him Thou and love one who loves him (Hasan).

‏ حُسَيْنٌ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ،

أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ مَنْ أَحَبَّ الْحَسَنَ وَالْحُسَيْنَ، سَبِطَانِ مِنَ الأَسْبَاطِ‏.‏

إنّ لِكُلِّ شَجَرَةٍ ثَمَرَةً ، وثَمَرَةُ القَلبِ الوَلَدُ .¹

6721.The Prophet (SAWA)said, 'For every tree there is a fruit and the fruit of the heart is the child.'²
